Description
I have 1 6 inche mata mata turtle for sale to young to sex. I brought 2 with the idea to move 1 on once they were both eating and healthy. The one for sale is the slightly smaller one in the last picture. This is a Chelus orinocensis the newly recognised species of mata mata, the other species Chelus firmbiata has a red and black plastron. This turtle will need clean soft/acidic water to thrive.
I use rain water and filter it with carbon to be safe. This turtle is not the most active species but do require quite a large enclosure when they are fully grown and that could be 24 inches long! However 12-18 inches is much more likely in captivity. I’m very keen for this turtle to go to a good home and I’m to answer any questions. This is a good price for a slightly larger mata specimen. Thanks for looking PLEASE email me on James.dagwell@icloud.com as this site won’t let me change my email to this.
