* Been through isolation/checks.
* Seem fit & healthy.
* Microchipped & DHP Passported.
* Vaccinated 1st & 2nd Flue & Tetanus * Good for vet.
* Wormed & good to be wormed.
* Feet trimmed here every 6wks.
* Good for farrier.
* Taming and training ongoing.
* Can be tied up brushed, rugged etc.
* Good to have all four feet picked.
* Real lads, hormones have kicked in.
* Will need gelding - our vet usually charges about £250 for such procedure (money well spent!).
* Vet has checked - both testes have officially descended i.e. not rigs which makes it easier & cheaper.
* Raising youngsters can be an amazing experience - memory making at its best -if not in a rush, willing to learn & able to put in the time.
* You can also save thousands as good lead rein ponies & kids riding ponies in general, are not always easy or cheap to get hold of.
* Your child can get a great bond as they grow with & spend time with the pony.
* When it comes to backing you will know what your child is sitting on - what it's temperament & quirks are; what it has seen, what it has done & what the pony likes etc.
* Once the pony & child are best friends the pony will likely do his best to look after your child. That to me is as important a safety thing as a helmet & body vest - although of course children should always be supervised.
* Not for everyone but happy to advise & to stay in touch if needed.
* Person must be kind, over 18 and have a suitable place to keep a pony.
