Description
CURIOUS GEORGE is a handsome shiny, dark bay Dartmoor Pony - yearling colt off the hills. In due course an about 11.2hh stunning in-hand show pony come future kids pony - lead rein pony, Pony Club & First Ridden project. Dartmoor's & Dartmoor Hill Ponies are renowned for making beautiful, hardy kids' show ponies. Still pretty much a blank slate but such a sweet face, mega soft coat, nice movements & thick mane & tail. We are sure he will do well. For someone who wants the experience of bringing on & producing their own show pony/children's lead rein pony or who realises it can be one of the best and cheapest way to ensure their child will have a well handled, easy, well mannered, well trained, trusting and hopefully safe pony. Some people like the idea of the child and the pony growing up together - with due supervision of course. Microchipped & passported. Seems fit & healthy. Has been through usual isolation/observation period on arrival. Not seen any sign of sickness, lameness, laminitis, sweet itch, asthma, injuries, lumps or bumps etc. Not a rig. Both testicles have descended (confirmed by vet). Makes gelding easier & cheaper when the time comes. Can advise further when viewing. Wormed. Had 1st & 2nd Flue & tetanus vaccination & up to date. Feet trimmed every six weeks. Been good for vet & farrier. Used to being tied up & have all four feet picked, brushed, rugged up etc. Taming/training still ongoing but has much potential. Is well loved but not spoiled with sweets and treats to discourage bad behaviour (vice). We want our ponies - even colts- to be as mega-tame, family/disabled/child friendly and as safe as possible. The re-homing fee is £900 as seen to the right home. Not for profit. Any money goes back into the project to help other rescue ponies. Once approved & payment received in full & cleared, the pony, passport & signed receipt is yours. If we can't trust you to own it we wont trust you with the pony at all. Can come with his best friend Alfie (similar fee ) should you need a cute paddock pair. COST PRICE DELIVERY AVAILABLE same or next day. Cheap as no charge for our time, as we do it for the love of it. Person/family must be kind & have suitable place & means to keep the pony. Open to viewing & vetting. Honest advise given. Happy to answer questions, give a transport quote or arrange a visit. Thanks! P.S. If you are interested in having a pony but have no experience and no idea where to start we would be happy to give you some pointers and, if appropriate, help you get started. Just give us a call or leave us your phone number. You can even bring your family and come to visit the rescue centre with no obligation to re-home anything. We will be happy to help. It's why we are here.x
