To gender them they have to be ideally 4+ months old in many cases 3-5 weeks old when leaving the nest and some only after one year and some born as female only.
Before getting a budgie you know they are social birds and to get the most out of them they have to be kept if in cage best two boys (bonding) only and if just one budgie they will need all your attention and even need to fly around but windows have to be protected otherwise they will fly into the glass what they cannot see (curtains or window stickers). Pets are living creatures with feelings not ornaments for showing off.
