About us
Our Pure Bred, Pedigree Golden Retriever and Border Collie are Puppies lovingly bred and reared at “MASTAMARINER Golden Retrievers & Border Collies” for TEMPERAMENT first. The parents of our puppies are dogs and bitches with excellent Pedigrees who have been carefully selected for their, exceptional temperaments and live with us in our home as a part of our family. All our dogs are intelligent, kind and biddable, gentle, calm, affectionate, tolerant and people oriented. All are health checked and as well as outstanding temperaments with people and dogs they also have superb characters and excellent conformation. Although our breeding includes Show and Working Champions our dogs are carefully and selectively bred for temperament and companionship to produce ideal family members. We currently share our home with five generations of both our Border Collies and Golden Retrievers. We are experienced, Licensed Breeders, Qualified Dog Trainers and Canine Behavioural Professionals who place an overriding emphasis on temperament and character. Our puppies are born and will be raised in our house in exemplary conditions where they are consistently socialised in a managed and positive fashion with adults, children and older dogs. Our puppies are thoroughly wormed, eye tested, health checked twice, inoculated with their first jab (for which complete formal veterinary documentation is provided), micro-chipped, insured, very well handled. They are integrated into the domestic environment with a large family of companion dogs and thoroughly cuddled to produce outgoing, sociable companions who are reliable, responsive and biddable. Many of our puppies enjoy helping as PAT dogs. Our puppies are not homed until they are at least 8 weeks of age and we are happy to keep puppies in our home until after their second inoculation where this offers the greater opportunity for socialisation during their early critical development period. To a avoid disappointment and abortive effort, prospective owners should note our conditions of homing included here and those explained in more detail on our web site and only if appropriate, contact us by email for further information. Initial enquiries should including details relevant to prospective ownership such as domestic circumstances, expectations of a new companion and any previous experience of dog ownership, details of further information that we require are listed on our web site. Enquiries may lead to an invitation to undertake a telephone interview, following which potentially suitable owners may be invited to meet us and our extended canine family, including any puppies, their parents, grandparents, great grandparents, great great grandparents and many of their relatives. We do not allow owners to “puppy pick” on a first come first serve basis. The acquisition of a new member of the family is an important matter and matching the character of a puppy to that of an owner and their domestic circumstances is an important responsibility that we take very seriously, we work with potential puppy owners to ensure the best possible match of aptitude and character. Our puppies are only available to permanent, loving homes with day-time company, lots of fun, affection and where they will enjoy gentle and consistent tutoring, excellent care, adequate mental and physical stimulation and total inclusion. We prefer homes where children are older (12 years +) so that time is available to meet the needs of a vulnerable, dependent, developing puppy with a thirst for learning. Previous experience of dog ownership is a matter of interest to us but is not a requirement, our emphasis on temperament and our knowledge and experience as trainers and behavioral specialists make our puppies ideal companions for first time owners as well as experienced owners. Homes that already include other gentle, well-mannered dogs are very acceptable. Owners are required to undertake to insure their puppy for life and to contact us for assistance if at any time changed circumstances force them to part with any dog we have bred, regardless of its age or state of health. We always take back any dog that we have bred regardless of circumstance. We are Professional, Qualified Dog Trainers (British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers) and are always available to provide support and advice to owners of our puppies. We care passionately for our puppies (of any age) and our after-homing support is ongoing and unlimited. We do not under any circumstances export our puppies, sell to homes overseas or allow puppies to be issued with an export pedigree. We do not supply our puppies to third parties, this included assistance dog charities, employees of prospective owners or (as gifts for) family members. We do not sell puppies as "breeding stock" our homing agreement requires prospective owners to undertake that their puppies will not be bred from and registration documents are endorsed to this effect. Our Agreement of Sale formalises our homing requirements. No undertaking is given to home puppies until prospective owners have visited us and been approved. Our puppies are homed strictly as companions and family members and whilst we do not necessarily exclude homes where owners and their pets take part in canine sports, we do not home puppies where these activities are disproportionately the focus of ownership. Our dogs are our best references, most of our puppies are homed with owners who have had or already have a MASTAMARINER in their lives and we are proud of the outstanding reports that we receive from delighted owners across the UK. In the first instance please review our conditions of homing here and on our Web Site and only if appropriate, contact us by email Visit us at home at http://www.mastamariner.com and meet our extended family of dogs and their owners on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/mastamariner
