Maddie is an 18 month old, mixed breed (DNA Results in photos), female from Croatia. She is best suited as an only dog as she will resource guard her food, toys and humans from other dogs within the home and has had an incident with another resident dog due to these struggles. Maddie is a very shy girl, who will need some time to learn to trust her new adopters so a few meet and greets will be necessary. She will need someone to continue working on her confidence once in her adoptive home. Something her foster human is willing to support either remotely or in person. Maddie is a very intelligent girl and will need someone to continue teaching her new skills and hobbies to ensure she does not get bored. She has been enjoying attending Adolescent Life skills classes each week, Scent Detection everyday at home and Mantrailing since being in her foster home and would love to continue this with her new family! Maddie is looking for a home without children as these are big worries for her. And she cannot live with cats or other small furries as she will take chase. Maddie is housetrained and crate trained and relies on having her crate as a safe space when being left at home. She has been left for up to 4 hours with no problems and will happily sleep away as long as she has had her needs met. Maddie enjoys going to secure hire fields and quiet spaces where she is unlikely to encounter other dogs or loud noises. She would not enjoy walks in busy areas or along roadsides. Maddie is an absolute snuggle bug once she trusts you, and will love nothing more than cuddling up with you on the sofa for belly rubs and a cosy evening together. She’s an absolutely lovely girl, who with the right understanding, patience and support will continue to grow in confidence.
