💔 Less than 24 hours after arriving from war-torn Ukraine, lovely ZHANNA is in desperate need of a new home.

Through no fault of her own, the resident dog in her adoptive flat cannot accept her, leaving her single adopter overwhelmed and unable to cope with two large, energetic dogs.
Despite our thorough efforts during the home check to make sure future family is ready for challenges and discuss ZHANNA’s size and temperament and assurance that family has strong experience in large breed and completely ready, this heartbreaking situation has arisen. Settling in takes time, but sadly, she hasn’t been given the chance to decompress.

“Unfortunately, they are not getting on at all. Nothing to do with Zhanna—she is a lovely, big girl and a friendly softy. Maybe because they are two girls and my Sasha is a bit territorial, it’s making it very difficult.
When walking them both together, because they are big dogs, it’s hard to manage.
It’s a real shame because she is lovely. A single person or family who can give her the attention will love her! She’s an easy dog and gentle soul.
Zhanna is a lovely girl. Gentle and curious in nature. Unfortunately, my dog is not settling to her presence in my flat. She would be a happy addition to any family or individual looking for a loving and energetic young dog.”

ZHANNA, a three-year-old German Shepherd Cross, is a large bundle of love and joy. Her heart is as big as her size, and her cheerful, playful personality is irresistible. She’s good with other dogs, loves people of all ages, and is curious about the world around her.

ZHANNA’s life began on a cold winter day, shivering by the railway tracks. A kind young man rescued her, carrying her home against his chest. For years, they were inseparable until war called him away, leaving her in his mother’s care.
Her life changed drastically—she went from being a cherished indoor companion to living chained outside. 💔 Her soldier dad reached out to the rescue in tears, begging for help to give ZHANNA the life she deserved. Tragically, contact with him was lost, and his fate remains unknown.
ZHANNA’s gentle spirit is a testament to the love she once knew. Despite everything, she’s remained a sweet, affectionate girl who welcomes everyone with open paws.
