Description

Lulu has been a wonderful companion for the time that we’ve had her, but it is with a heavy heart that we have made the difficult decision to re-home her. She is the most affectionate and loving cat. She headbutts for pets and attention, and follows you from room to room. Lulu isn’t quite a lap-cat, but she loves to be sitting right next to you and touching you. She often curls up by your side and runs to be beside you and be lavished in attention. She can be very vocal and chatty. Like most cats, Lulu does enjoy time to herself too, and loves her little hideaways and cardboard boxes. Lulu can be very food motivated, which isn’t the greatest while she’s on a diet! :D She’s a little overweight, but with the help of our vets has already lost almost a kilo and counting! Her weight is currently around 4.5kg, and should continue making progress steadily. She is currently on a specialised diet (approx. 40g of ‘Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Urinary Stress + Metabolic – Dry Cat Food with Chicken’ per day), which she will likely need to stay on for life. Lulu was put on this diet after developing bladder stones, and this has been effective at preventing their return, and keeping her stomach happy. Her birthday is July 11th, and she is either 12 or 13 years old. She’s currently in good health, and is de-flea’d and de-wormed. She is certainly a senior kitty, and has a developed personality and a love of routines. Lulu is spayed and microchipped, litter trained and used to living indoors. I believe she would enjoy remaining indoors, or having some enclosed outdoor access after settling in. Lulu can be anxious at times, and while she adapted to living with us quickly it has taken some trial and error to learn what she is afraid of. She can be scared of many things, such as bin bags and vacuums, and young children yelling. She values having places to hide in when she is scared, but bounces back to her usual self quickly. A peaceful and quiet home, with older children or no children would be best for her. She lives with us as a solo cat, but might enjoy the company of other cats if they are friendly. We’re unsure how she would behave, but I believe she could adapt and possibly thrive after a slow introduction period. When we first adopted her, we weren’t given honest information about her past or behaviours and it made getting her settled in difficult, so it is with that in mind that I’ll be as open as possible so that she might find the best home for her. Lulu has many positive qualities, but she can also be difficult at times. She does have her needs, but she also has endless amounts of love to give in return. Please get in touch if you think you might be a good fit, or have any questions. You will be more than welcome to visit her in our home too, and see her loving self in person. She will come with everything she needs to get settled in; including her carrier, toys, water fountain, automatic feeder and any remaining food.
