Rosie has been with us since just before 12 weeks old. She is not the breed we originally bought her as! The vet thinks that she is most likely a Labrador / whippet cross.
Rosie is generally a mild mannered dog, although has lots of energy. She has always been a nervous dog since we had her and requires a firm but gentle home that can give her the exercise and ongoing training that she needs to keep her calm and regulated.
She currently lives with an old miniature dachshund and is generally okay with other dogs, although she can bark and become a little bouncy when she meets someone new!
I think Rosie would benefit from a home with adults who can give her the amount of exercise she likes (she has at least 1.5 hours walk daily) and would probably prefer a home which isn’t as noisy and busy as ours, due to having two young children and a constant flow of people in and out. This would help her feel more balanced I think.
Rosie is fully vaccinated, has been health checked by the vet recently and has been given regular flea treatment. She has a microchip, which will need updating by new owners. She is good off lead when out on walks, has good recall and obeys basic commands such as ‘sit’ and ‘bed’. She is house trained and can be left for periods of time alone, preferring to have chew toys to keep her busy.
It is a very hard decision that we have taken to put Rosie up for adoption. We just feel that she would benefit from a slightly calmer household given her nervous disposition and one in which she can be given lots of time and an active lifestyle.
