DORIS IS IN THE CARE OF HEREFORD AND WORCESTER ANIMAL RESCUE
Darling little Doris joined us a few weeks ago, she was quite unwell and had spent numerous nights at the vets after being found as a stray, wandering in the road locally.
We suspect Doris may have even been clipped by a vehicle as she was incredibly sore over her back leg and hip and showed a lot of weakness in her mobility, it was also a struggle to raise her temperature but she was finally well enough to leave the vets and join us.
Even though she became very fond of one of the lovely veterinary nurses at Brookfield Vets, Hereford & Ledbury, dear Doris didn’t enjoy being at the vets and got quite upset when being handled but we absolutely can’t blame her as she must have been feeling terrible, was in pain and confused.
Doris does have a heart murmur but this is causing her no bother, after a thorough check up at the vets today we are very pleased to say she has the all clear to find her forever home. 🩷🎉
We have found beautiful Doris to be a total joy, every day she has become stronger and her wonderful terrier character has shone through.
Doris is very affectionate and loving and would suit a terrier experienced person/couple with a calm environment, we don’t feel she would enjoy a busy household with lots of people coming and going, she can still be a little hand shy and can become overwhelmed in unknown environments.
Doris would also be best suited to a pet free home where she can receive all the attention she deserves without needing to compete with other animals.
An adult only home will be needed, we have no history of Doris around children and we don’t feel she would be very tolerant of small people.
Our darling Doris has been through quite the ordeal so we need to make sure her new family will be her perfect match.
