DescriptionWe are looking to re-home our dog Pudpud, a 2 year old male beagle mix, around 17 kg, who has lived with us for 2 months. Our family loves him very much but we have not been able to bring our family life into balance with him and his needs and have made the decision that, with a heavy heart, we need to find a new home for him.
I would describe Pudpud as a fun, energetic, curious and very smart dog. He is somewhat untrained in many ways but a fast learner. He is a friendly dog and has grown very fond of us (and we of him!). He gets excited when any of our family members come downstairs in the morning or return back home after work or school. He is a noisy dog, and whenever someone leaves the house there's lots of barking, which can certainly be reduced with some consistent training.
Pudpud is easygoing around children and also other dogs, for the most part. He has a high tolerance but at times gets stressed. On days that follow our regular routine he feels most happy. Non-routine days, such as weekends, holidays, days with a lot of activity, when guests come over, those situations have sometimes stressed him. As first-time dog owners it has not been easy to manage these times in a way that meets his needs. In particular, it has been a challenge with our 4-year old who does not always follows instructions to respect his boundaries.
Travelling with him has been super easy. We did several car journeys of more than an hour without any difficulty.
Pudpud is microchipped, not neutered, current on vaccines and treatments.
In my view, a suitable place for him would be a family with older children, or a couple or single household, someone with a bit of experience in dogs. If possible we would like to re-home him locally. If you live in or around Bristol you're welcome to come over and get to know him. We are not in an extreme rush; our focus is really on finding a great new home for him, even if that takes a bit of time.
