Jen is another dog from the Basque Country who arrived at the shelter along with 3 other setters (Leyba, Kiss and Lister). They come from a hunter that unfortunately breeds too many dogs and routinely cuts his numbers. He cares enough to make sure they go to a shelter but the ladies we work with in Spain tell us that it wouldn’t be good news for the dogs if we weren’t able to help, sadly a very familiar story.
Jen is a little bit shy but very good natured. He walks well on his lead at the moment and always looks for you but this may change when he finds his feet a little more and he will need further training. He is very friendly with other dogs and lives with others and is very happy to share his kennel and food. He is very eager to please and although it is clear he’s not used to affection, he is letting himself become more ad more comfortable. He loves to run and sniff everything he can, a typical setter!
