Very reluctant but sadly need to rehome our dog Tommy.
Good points: Tommy is a lovely dog once he knows you. Been brought up with children. He’s very loyal, loves the attention from owner. Loves walks, sleeping in the bed. Loves blankets and cuddles and enjoys sunbathing.
Not so good points: Tommy has separation anxiety and detests being left alone. Tried crate training but hates it. Very vocal to other humans/dogs. But will settle down after a while. Then loves the attention. Think it’s more anxiety.
He has been through a lot, he lost his close companion in January, we have got a new puppy for company, but he still very anxious when left gets destructive. He does get on very well tho and treats him like his own.
Tommy is an anxious dog with anyone he doesn’t know at first, unfortunately he was bitten by another dog last year, which set him back.
Tommy would benefit with someone that can always be around, to give him the attention and company he needs.
With 3 children (2 with extra needs) finding it very difficult to give him the training and attention he needs.
I have had him since he’s 8 weeks old and will be very sad, but as a family we can’t go on.
Ideally would like him to go with someone that has experience and lots of patience with separation anxiety and used to “vocal” dogs. Maybe best being only dog at first and no cats.
Please only message if genuinely interested and read full description first. As had a few time wasters.
If I feel that he won’t be suitable for you, then sorry I won’t let him go unless I’m happy that someone can give him the home he needs. As do not want him messed about.
