Meet Roxy, the story of how she came into rescue is truly heartbreaking.
Roxy and her sister spent their lives locked in cages and left in their own filth.
(The first picture is how we found her and the second picture was taken in rescue recently)
Both sisters had been used for breeding, they were locked in cages knee deep in their own waste, they had no toys, no bed, no love and no comforts and were starved. Neither could lie down to sleep or rest and
the extent of the urine burns and stains showed the length of time they has been left this way. Roxy was very underweight with an ear infection and understandably traumatised, even a quick hand movement and she would cower indicating they were physically abused too.
After receiving lots of love and care she has recovered well and made huge progress in her rehabilitation.
Roxy still has signs of urine stains and is still a little underweight but we are searching for the perfect family with patience and compassion to continue her healing journey, allow her time to bond and trust and prove not all humans are monsters.
Roxy is dog and child friendly, she is a tall leggy girl and although we don’t know her past besides the abuse and neglect we do suspect she is a Johnson’s / boxer cross.
Approx 3 years old, fully vaccinated, flea worm, spay.
Roxy loves cuddles once she trusts you and she adores walks and the outdoors. Due to her size and our insurance unfortunately we can not not place her in a home with young children.
