Luna is a beautiful female German shorthaired pointer in UK foster, she is eight years old, still active and playful and is always ready for a game of ball, her date of birth is 12/12/2016.
Luna arrived at the shelter very nervous and stressed, she is sensitive and found the changes very hard however her confidence grew quickly in a home and she formed a close bond with her adopter, but it is clear the resident dog and Luna would both prefer not to share their human and so Luna is looking for a new home as an only dog.
Her foster mum says “Luna is my gentle, shy and sweet companion. Since I first met Luna, in May 2024, I sensed that she was a little shy, very tired following her trip from Spain, and rather intrigued with her new surroundings in the UK.
More than anything though, I could see how keen she was to please, even though we had not met before.
Sometime later, she still wants to please, she is observant and will often anticipate my next move.
Luna has learned what is expected of her the longer she has been with us, and knowing the routine at home, she is always ready to join in, whether it be a walk in the village or at the beach, some gardening or shopping for groceries.
I would say she is full of energy and enthusiasm, and has a wonderful love of life.
On a walk Luna runs like the wind, so fast, and has learnt recall and is reliable on return.
She is a joy to care for. “
Luna is affectionate and very attached with people she knows. She is now confident enough to enjoy visits to the pub and loves to play ball. She has been reliably recalling off lead to her adopter, though this was gradually built up over time in secure fields as it should be with the new home.
Luna would love a quiet home with lots of human companionship, adventures and cuddles.
