Description
This is June, She’s almost 2 and a half years old, Fully neutered/vaccinated. She is a super fun and adorable dog. She has a lovely, inquisitive and playful character about her. She likes safe and calm environments at home, and once she settles she loves cuddles and snoozing in her bed/on the sofa. She still shows puppy like behaviour, so does need attention and outlets to let off steam from time to time, so someone who works from home most of the time and has access to a secure garden is probably a requirement. She’s super clever, so will find an escape route if she can! June’s a very good guard dog as well and is protective of her loved ones. The main issue to work on with her is reactivity to loud noises and strange people (especially men) / dogs. This can make walks a little tricky, but she’s improving all the time, and she does learn to trust new people pretty quickly. She has certainly learnt to be quickly adaptable to new places. She is fine travelling in the car, and she normally goes to sleep after being a bit unsettled at first. I also have a cat, who June loves being around, but wants to play with him all the time (the cat, not so much!) That said, they have (amazingly) now worked out how to peacefully co-exist, so I would say June would get along with cats again.
In terms of walks, still working on her recall, so off lead is not an option at the moment (especially when her prey drive is quite strong). She is fairly good on the lead and will respond to certain commands on the whole (eg “sit”, “this way”, “leave it” etc.). She mostly goes on a short lead, a long training lead too, which she likes. try and get her to secure dog parks when she can be let off, as she absolutely loves sprinting around when she gets the chance!
she’s decent with being left alone in the house at times.
