Hello, my name is Bennie and I am 16yr (approx.) young Male Macaw.
It is with a heavy heart that Mummy needs to find me a new forever home.
They got me in February 2023. I come with a cage but have no papers or been DNA tested.
I was called Henry, but I answer to Bennie now.
I love to fly but only indoors. Last time I flew outside I got stuck up a tree and flew down some 16 hours later!
I do not like flashing lights or broom handles. Any buttons on your clothes, I will strip them off in a second without any damage to you or the cloth!
When they got me I loved her husband, he taught me everything, including how to undo Isolation valves, both ways. (see clip of ‘Daddy..’)
I don't like Daddy anymore, he did me no harm, I just worship Mummy. Hence her heart-breaking decision to find me a new home.
I love Abba Gold and I will dance and react to the music.
I now do Roly-Poly!
I used to groom their GSD.
For a bird scared of being water sprayed, I love to play in the kitchen sink.
For 7 yrs I lived with cats and children.
I undo almost everything so they must padlock me in, if you leave the keys nearby, I will undo the padlock! I really want to learn new tricks.
I am incredibly affectionate, grateful and very inquisitive. I say, ‘hello’ and ‘all right’ and a strange 'love you'!
I love to walk round the dining table and eat from your plate (Parrot friendly food only). I climb the stairs to find you and I follow/fly to Mummy everywhere.
I love egg noodles, mash and peas, shell on Walnuts and chicken bones!!
