Toffee gives far more than she’ll ever ask from you. She’s an instant joyful & affectionate presence with a slight comical air because she thinks she’s a lapdog. Toffee will make you feel like the most charming host in the world if you let her climb on board. She’s happy to sit lovingly by your side if your knee isn’t available & that’s on a first meet. Toffee you see is driven by a loyalty that the human species just does not possess. Her faith, resolve & hope have yet to leave her despite the fact that she’s never known a person that didn’t walk in the other direction. Toffee has never belonged. She was by a turn of fate born in a country where dogs are considered lower than vermin & endure horrific treatments, prejudice & indifference just because of they are a dog. This exquisite lab sized muppet is
loosing hope after being abandoned in unfamiliar territory (you have to really try to Imagine that) & then in navigating through the desperate loneliness of it all, was scooped up & put in a pound. Now she’s adapted as these majestic creatures do it won’t help her to find happiness, because unless she is chosen the policy will leave her desolate once more or handed over to a bad person. Toffee will be put out on a rubbish tip or chained. When you stare into her pleading eyes in that picture on my knee (I’m leesa the rescuer intent on finding her her special person) you cannot help but be moved by her plight & the sadness that’s slowly enveloping her. She gives you everything she possesses in a moment when she is impoverished herself in her plight- so that you might... just might let her follow. That alone deserves a home.
