Monty is an 8 year old greyhound. He is a very sweet dog. I have had him for 4 years. Unfortunately, my partner and I are separating and I am unable to manage with, or afford, him on my own. I'm very sad to see him go and so I want to find the right home for him. I am not looking for any money (I had to enter a minimum £10 but there is no fee), I just want him to be cared for.
He is completely house trained, he walks well on a lead but (like all ex-racing greyhounds) cannot go off lead unless in an enclosed space (he has very little recall). He is totally fine with other dogs, although he would very much like to chase cats. He is also fine with children although he has had very little experience with them. His behaviour is very good - gentle and easy. Mostly, he wants to curl up and sleep with his head on a human's lap.
His health is very good. He recently had his teeth cleaned by a vet and had some removed (ex-racers have notoriously bad teeth) so he should be fine for dentistry. Likewise, he is up to date with his vaccines, flea, and worm treatment. He had bloods checked and he is otherwise completely healthy.
As I said, my priority is finding him a safe and happy home where he can be cared for. I'm happy to answer any questions you have.
