Eighteen month old, Frederick wants to be friends with the humans he meets. He does wait until he is sure that they are not going to harm him before he makes a commitment. He will back off until he is sure so his adopter must be patient and understand his need to be introduced to new people and situations in his own time.
Frederick is still a youngster and loves to run and play but he is not destructive and will relax if nothing is going on, and considering his age, he is very well behaved.
Frederick is a Drahthaar (also called a German Wirehaired Pointer) and may have been a failed hunting dog - please research the breed-specific needs of the Drahthaar (German Wirehaired Pointer) before applying.
IDEAL HOME
Frederick can still be a bit nervous of people when he first meets them so ideally a low-activity home without children (over 8 for adoption only please) would be better for him.
Frederick needs a welcoming, calm resident dog in the family who will help him with his confidence.
BACKGROUND
Admitted as a six-month old puppy after being abandoned at a municipal pound in Spain.
Frederick arrived very nervous. He didn’t understand how to walk on a lead or socialise with humans and other dogs. After some months in our care and with lots of new friends to give him confidence, he has come out of his shell and has turned into the sweetest and most affectionate dog.

All of our dogs have an international passport (unless born in the UK) and are microchipped. They are fully vaccinated for standard diseases as well as rabies and kennel cough. All dogs are blood tested for infectious diseases including Leishmaniasis, Dirofilaria, Ehrlichia, Babesia, Anaplasma, Lyme and Brucella Canis. All dogs, unless there are medical or behavioural reasons to not do so, will be sterilised. Frederick is neutered.
Adoption contract and fee, home check, adoption checks and lifetime RBU (rescue back-up) apply as standard.
