🐾 Meet Arlo - A Soft-Natured Boy Searching for Love 🐾
Hello, I’m Arlo! I’m a shy, gentle little guy with a playful heart full of love waiting to blossom. Life hasn’t been kind to me so far, but I’m ready to start a new chapter filled with love and care. Could you be the one to show me the way?
🐶 About Me:
• Name: Arlo
• Age: Around 1yr - 18 months
• Breed: I’m a very small Lurcher, about the size of an Italian Greyhound or Whippet.
• Location: Currently in foster in Devon.
• Neutered: Not yet but will need to be done.
• Health: I’ve had all my vaccinations, passed my general health check, been wormed and flea treated, and I’m slowly being built up with good nutrition after arriving malnourished.
• Microchipped: Yes.
• Cat-tested: No.
• Child-tested: I am currently living with two boys who are 16 and 12 and they understand my need for space. I haven't been tested with young children.
🐾 My Rescue Story:
Like my brother Freddie, I was found abandoned at a traveller site with our friend Keava. We were all in terrible shape, left to fend for ourselves. We ended up in an overcrowded UK pound that was bursting at the seams. With no space left, I was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, Paws2Freedom stepped in just in time and saved my life. I spent some time in a wonderful rehabilitation kennels where I received the care I needed after being saved from death row. My brother Freddie and friend Keava have now been adopted and gone to their forever homes and I am now decompressing with a lovely foster family. I am looking forward to finding my own family who can help me have a brighter future.
🐾 My Personality:
• Shy & Gentle: I’m a soft-natured boy who needs time to feel safe and trust people. In time, once I settle and trust you, I will show you my young and playful nature.
• Playful with Dogs: I love playing with other dogs, but I’m not as outgoing as Freddie. I’m more reserved and need a little extra encouragement.
• Sensitive Soul: I’m very sweet but cautious. With patience and love, I know I’ll blossom into a wonderful companion.
🐾 What I Need in a Home:
• A Calm & Nurturing Environment: I’ll thrive in a quiet home where I can build my confidence at my own pace.
• A Canine Companion: I’d love to live with another young, calm and confident dog to help guide me and be my playmate.
• A Secure Garden: This is a must for my early days while I build trust and adjust to my new surroundings.
• Time & Patience: I need someone who understands that I am still adjusting to living in a home and will give me the time I need to learn and adapt.
• Commitment to My Training: I’ll need help with house training even though I already made big progress. My foster family say that I am doing brilliantly and will sometimes bark once to alert them that I need the toilet. I will also need help with learning what’s expected of me.
🐾 My Ideal Family:
I’m looking for a kind and patient family who can offer me the security and love I’ve been missing. Someone who sees my potential and is willing to guide me as I discover the joys of being a cherished companion in home-life.
