How big? Medium How old? Adult (around four years) Male or female? Male Living with kids? I’m looking for a home without children Living with dogs? I might be able to live with another dog Resident dog required? No Living with cats? I’m looking for a home without cats Where can I live? I’d like a home outside of the city with a calm household Where am I from? Cyprus, now in London E1 About Milo We are heartbroken to say that Milo needs rehoming again. Unfortunately due to a change in living circumstances, Milo has now found himself in an environment that’s not conducive to his needs and we need to find him new family. For those of you who are new to Milo’s story, he was formerly known as Andy and was rescued from the streets of Cyprus. He was adopted as a puppy, but following the arrival of a new baby he couldn’t cope and was rehomed. He met his ideal match in his new owner, who understood his needs and advocated for his space, but now in a much busier household, Milo is really struggling. Ultimately, Milo can be anxious if he doesn’t have a calm, predictable home. He is therefore looking for a small family unit with a laidback home atmosphere, away from a busy city and with previous dog ownership experience. We are not looking for a home with cats or children, but other resident dogs can be considered. The fewer factors there are that can impact Milo’s ability to settle into a new home, the better. We desperately want to avoid him having to be rehomed again. Milo is described as a fairly lazy boy in the home, but he’s more than ready for an adventure when the opportunity presents itself. He loves to swim and spend time around people and other dogs that he is comfortable with. He would prefer a home based a bit more rurally, away from lots of busy noise and crowds, where he can enjoy a slower pace of day-to-day life. At home, he is a cheeky but affectionate boy - he will always try to sneak up onto the bed or the sofa! Although his initial meetings with new dogs can sometimes result in him being reactive, you can clearly see from the photos that this isn’t the case once Milo has built up some familiarity. He attends daycare and gets on well there, but is a naturally boisterous boy and can sometimes get a bit overexcitable in play, which understandably isn’t always well-received. He is also very good on the lead and walks very politely, but can be reactive towards dogs that are too full on or if something/someone scares him. A confident handler is therefore a must. You can see in Milo’s photos that he’s able to enjoy lots of different outings and experiences, but a vital part in him being able to manage those environments is due to him being in capable hands, which sets him up for success. Milo is extremely food oriented which makes training very easy! He has learned a number of commands including sit, lay, wait, focus, eat, leave, and spin. He is also crate trained, which we advise is continued in his new home as he really values having a safe space of his own, and he is completely housetrained too. Milo can be possessive over food and toys, although his current owner can remove either from him without an issue when necessary. When he is stressed, this behaviour becomes more frequent and it’s part of the reason that he needs a calm home with a predictable routine. We are obviously gutted that Milo needs rehoming, but he has enjoyed a wonderful 2+ years in a home that has really understood his needs. He is now around four years old and we really want this next move to be his last. He is very loyal and loving to those he trusts, and he just needs time, patience and reassurance to adapt to a new household. Milo is currently based in London (E1) and is looking for his new home as soon as possible.
