AVAILABLE- ‘Alfie’ the little 7 month old
puppy. Alf is embarking on his journey &
we hope a new owner will show him the
love he deserves
A little baby- with fluffy, silky puppy fur
wriggling around for belly rubs- darling,
loving innocent pom pom full of affection &
submissiveness- “please don’t hurt me”.
Alfie was as a tiny lad ripped from his
mother & placed in a hard leather collar.
When he grew his barbaric ‘owner’ didn’t
change it & Alf was slowly over the months garrotted. At 7 months old no doubt chained, his flesh was bulging over the top
& his muscles exposed. The vet who is
used to embedded collars described it as
the “worse case” she has ever seen. You
only have to place a hand against your own
Adams apple- the air way to feel a fraction
of what Alfie endured. Just when you think
it couldn’t get worse this baby who had
barely been on earth for a moment was
struck with a foot or object which left him
struggling to walk. The welfare will cover
the costs of an X.Ray & go from there. We will keep you in touch. Alf will be recovered
by the time he is homed of course & we
hope to attract an early adoption offer. We
think it would be special & personal for an
owner to go on that journey with him &
follow his story while they wait for him to
arrive. The reason I’ve transcribed his
ordeal to print is that without the horrors
you cannot truly know the extraordinary
soul that Alfie is. Only by knowing his
sufferance can we appreciate his beautiful
& docile nature. After all he’s been through
up goes his belly for a rub and patter cake
with his paws ensue. He shows us what
courage is. Alfie doesn’t even know he’s
strong- in his mind he’s worthless though
for now someone is kind and it feels good.
Things are looking up so much just
because he isn’t being hurt & Alfie
responds with joy & playfulness. He finally
has a chance to be a puppy & it fractures
your heart to see his defenceless little
ways. He averts his eyes from yours yet
tries to look, he goes in for a stroke while
ducking slightly & if you try to look at his
neck he doesn’t react though clearly
wishes you wouldn’t. He was so scared on
arrival though allowed a slip lead to walk
him in & he gives so much in exchange for
any morsels that he surly as earned a
home. Are you out there? A cage with a
crotched blanket and the occasional
presence is for him a sanctuary & I can
only imagine how he’d feel if he had love.
