Dixie was found abandoned in the remote countryside with her doggy friends. They have since been adopted and now it’s Dixie’s turn to find her forever family.
This is what Dixie’s foster mum says about her:
Dixie is a gorgeous girl with a big heart.
She loves cuddles and comfort and she is really affectionate. She’ll sit on your lap for a bit and roll over for tummy rubs whenever you walk past. She’s got a sweet purr that comes on when you stroke her. It’s so heart warming.
She rests well and loves sleeping. When we go out, we’ve found she’s best left with our other dog. They sleep the whole time we’re away from them. She doesn’t like being left on her own, she gets restless and would definitely benefit from the company of a playful and confident dog.
She’s quite at home roaming around down stairs. She loves the garden and likes to snuffle in the borders
She’s had a 3 hour journey in the car and settles quickly.
She’s as bright as a button and has mastered sit, lie down, wait and paw. She knows stop and slow when we’re walking too. She clearly understands ‘no’ and waits to be invited up to sit with us.
She’s house trained and goes to the toilet on her walks.
She walks really well and is happy at your side or a little up ahead on the flexi lead. She’s been distracted by cats and will sometimes pull if she sees one. She’s shy of other dogs while walking but not reactive at all. Over time she has got within sniffing distance of dogs we meet on her walks.
