Max is an extremely affectionate and highly intelligent German terrier who is estimated to be around 2 years old. He was found by his current foster family in Bosnia as a stray during the Easter holidays. He was then placed in boarding kennels until he could be transported to England in the Summer. Despite his past experiences as a stray, Max is a highly affectionate and playful dog who adores all people, including children.
Unfortunately, Max’s foster family is unable to keep him in their home as they own a small dog who is quite yappy which agitates Max as well as a cat who triggers Max’s natural prey instincts. He would be the perfect dog in a household without other pets. Due to the sudden huge environment change Max has experienced, he is still anxious with new surroundings. When on walks, treats are a good way to calm him down until he gets used to the new area which shouldn't take long since he is very clever and a fast learner. Max is also very adaptable, he managed a 2 day car ride from Bosnia to England with his foster family who he had only known for a week in total at the time. Some of the photos provided are from this car ride.
Max has been fully vaccinated, sterilised, microchipped, and is otherwise in great health.
Finally, to emphasise, Max is genuinely the sweetest dog. He loves being held like a baby and makes funny grunting sounds when moved from cuddling with people. He just can’t seem to get over his prey drive and the family must protect the dog and cat they took in already first. As a result, they have decided that the best option for all is to find Max another home where he will receive the love, attention, and peace that he deserves.
