DescriptionThis is an unusual gerbil, not easy to find in pet stores (we got him from a breeder). They are happier kept alone, unlike regular gerbils, and they don't need to burrow as deeply. They are known for their mild and relaxed personalities and are very low maintenance.
Unfortunately this little guy nipped my son's finger once at the very beginning and so he's been reluctant to hold him and the gerbil doesn't get to come out and explore much. I'd love him to find a home where he'd get the attention and patience he needs to become a loving and confident little gerbil.
He's very cute...the duprasi fat tail is where they store water (they are desert dwellers) and it means they eliminate very rarely, so their cages don't smell. As a pet he couldn't be easier to take care of, and he comes with everything he needs (including the cage, wheel, sand bath, water bottle and half a tub of very good food, which lasts a looooong time).
