Ter is a simply wonderful boy. He would be ideal for a family looking for a calmer setter. He’s a really well rounded lad, showing no fears or anxieties and he’s used to a lot of the noises daily life has to offer. He’s great with children and is a pure love with people, very affectionate and loves being with humans.
He gets along with all the other dogs but having spent his life alone, he’d also be fine as an only dog as well as in a home with other dogs. He is a total gem and gets along with everyone, from the crazy young active setters at the shelter to the old calmer ones, they all give him kisses and he’s delighted to be friends with them! He walks nicely on his lead and sticks close by. He’s a really happy boy and comes running with joy when he is called. He gets happier every day he’s at the shelter and loves his free time outside, he’s certainly a glass half full kind of dog!
Before Ter arrived at the shelter, he was passed around 3 hunters. The last one kept him in a garage, although we’re not sure how many years he was there for. They did take him out for a walk each day but then he would go back into the garage in the dark and alone until he went on a walk again the next day. The neighbour of Ter’s owner contacted the rescue we work with in Spain because as well as being generally worried about Ter, the owner decided he was going to sell the garage Ter was living in which was going to leave him homeless.
Ter is so grateful to be living a better life already, you can see it all over his face and he is an absolutely joy to watch him be happy and such a kind soul after the life he has left. He really is an exceptional dog.
