Broodmare / Potential Happy Hacker – Trixie
Thoroughbred Mare | 15.3hh – 16hh | 6 Years Old | Chestnut
Trixie is a lovely 6-year-old chestnut Thoroughbred mare standing between 15.3hh and 16hh. She has a beautiful, kind temperament and a gentle, affectionate nature—truly a people-oriented horse who loves attention and being around you.
She has been used primarily for hacking and is great to ride even after time off; you can leave her for a couple of months and hop straight back on. She’s seen farm machinery and isn’t easily fazed by much in her environment. She loads into a trailer (a bit hesitant at first, but walks on calmly), is good with the farrier, and gets along well in the field with other horses. Worming is up to date.
Trixie came to us in poor condition but has since regained weight and is doing well. She moves beautifully and has excellent conformation, making her a lovely prospect either as a broodmare or a happy hacker.
Important Notes:
Trixie has experienced occasional lameness on hard ground due to being flat-footed, though she has good-quality hooves. She’s been checked by a vet with no major concerns identified. However, because of the intermittent lameness, she is being sold as seen, and we are advertising her primarily as a broodmare.
She is not suitable for novice riders and not for under-18s. She can crib when bored but does well with enrichment (toys, licks, etc.).
We are looking for a loving, experienced home and are willing to wait for the right match. Serious inquiries only, please.
