DescriptionSuzy is about 4 years old and a bit of a hero! She would like an active family, and could live with teenagers (or older mature/robust children), but would prefer to be the only dog (she doesn't like to share her humans).
Why is she a hero, you ask? Well, she was a match for another dog who needed a blood transfusion, and Suzy was healthy and able to do this. She has saved another dog's life, and so it is now definitely time for her to find her happy ever after.
Suzy is a confident lady who knows her own mind, and is happy to communicate that to her humans. She has bags of personality and is totally lovable for that fact! If you take too long to give her a treat, she's not shy about about using her voice to say, "Hey!! Me! Me! I did the thing! Now give me the treat!" She really makes her carers laugh every day.
At present, Suzy is a bit overweight and so is on a diet (yes, we know that's a dirty word, sorry!). However, she is an active lady who is quickly shedding the pounds. Therefore, she would benefit from living in an active home... although may need to work up to longer walks as her fitness improves.
Her weight was definitely holding her back and slowing her down, but as we watch her lose it, we see her agility is increasing. At the kennels she is often the 'last dog standing' during exercise sessions, and loves being outside and running around.
Suzy knows her basic commands like 'sit' and 'lie down' and walks quite well on the lead. She may have a few manners to learn, but she is keen to impress for a tasty treat!
