DescriptionBENNY
Are you looking for an adorable, tame, friendly to do pet/companion foal? Maybe mega-easy long term lead rein, riding pony or therapy pony project?
Look no further!
Benny is a lovely well handled, healthy Welsh rescue colt foal age 6mths.
Likely to make a nice height.
Present height estimated growing fast.
BACKGROUND
From a field where breeders had sadly died & things had got out of hand. Mum believed to be 15.2hh Welsh D mare & stallion 11-11.2hh Welsh A.
Also tiny mini-Shetland stallions in field but a little less likely.
Any one's guess what height he will make, but for sure he is adorable.
All ponies in that field were clearly bred for good nature.
Suffered neglect but not likely abused nor spoiled with treats.
No sign of any sickness in the herd.
Wormy but otherwise healthy looking foal having had the milk of his mum.
All well socialised in very mixed herd of colts, stallions, mares & fillies.
WHERE BENNY IS UP TO
Now weaned.
Been through isolation.
No sign of sickness etc.
Halter trained, good to tie up & easy to lead around farm.
Needs to have fun in the field, go for walks & see more things.
Good to be handled, brushed, wormed
GREAT TO HAVE ALL 4 FEET PICKED.
Good to be rugged up or dressed up (if Santa needs a helper!)
Not bit or kicked nor been mean, but still young & not yet understood he can't groom you back when brushed or scratched. He just wants to love you back, but learning.
Not old enough yet, but will in time need gelded - can advise.
Microchipped & passported.
Well wormed deliced with Deosect. Feet trimmed every 6wks.
Friendly & good with vet, farrier etc.
Not yet seen many young kids, but seem to like them.
Please, remember that with even the best pony kids should be supervised.
Too young to be vaccinated but can soon be started - just ask vet.
Used to living in or out with some form of shelter &/or rug.
Sweet with other ponies but not with a bully as so sweet/not a fighter.
Good to be caught comes right up'.
Been super for vet, farrier, trainer, helpers & visitors.
If tied up just stands there so peacefully & patiently amazing for age.
Just needs a friend near him as still a 'baby' not tied alone.
Of course still much more to learn, but a real charmer.
RE-HOMING & WHO WE ARE
Please no dealers/producers/sellers.
Sweet & easy enough to go straight to a kind home/family.
Willingness to learn more important than experience.
Should in due course make a lovely lead rein/riding pony project.
Make a lovely pet for mature person or teen with autism.
Maybe long term therapy/party pony project for small pony business.
Re-homing fee for Benny is £450 as seen.
Pony, passport & signed receipt becomes yours.
Any money goes back into the work.
Never covers what has been spent but a great help with hay bills etc.
WHO WE ARE
We are a small not for profit family funded rescue centre.
Work not usually subsidised by donations, grants, wills, lottery etc.
Work all done for the love of it.
Like the RSPCA we do full re-homing to suitable kind homes.
We don't sell, loan, lease or rent out our rescue ponies.
If we can't trust you to own the pony we wont trust you with it at all.
