Beautiful Maddie is a 2.5 year old pointer/kukoni mix girl currently living in Southend in the UK.
Maddie had a sad start to her life being abandoned in a village in Cyprus. She survived, living on the local rubbish tip , eating what she could find. She was beyond skinny when she was rescued but Maddie was lucky enough to have find a lovely home in the UK but after a year, due to a change in the family’s circumstances she now needs to find another loving family.
Her adoptive parent is devastated that she has to re-home Maddie and has only wonderful things to say about her.
“Maddie is an absolute sweetheart. Indoors she loves to snuggle up next to you. She gives her paw when she wants cuddles or strokes. She likes to play with her plush toys and will play tug and fetch with them.
She has learned to sit and will also lay in her own bed when told (but she much prefers to snuggle next to you). She is shy at first with visitors but becomes curious and within half an hour she will probably be sat on their laps! She loves gentle children. She is house trained and not at all destructive. She is happy to quietly curl up during the day.
Outdoors Maddie is a little nervous. She will look around her surroundings. She walks well on a lead with the command 'here' with a quick, gentle snap on the lead. When coming to cross a road she will stop when given the 'wait' command. She is quite prey driven and when she sees a squirrel she will go into hunt mode. For this reason she is probably best kept on the lead. I have let her off lead a few times but only in areas where there are no roads around, such as woods or nature reserves. She can be a little reactive when she sees another dog. I have been working on this by getting her to sit when another dog comes towards so this behaviour is improving"
Maddie has been living with a child of 10 yrs and so we would recommend that any children in her new home be 10 years old or over.
Maddie has been living happily with a boy dog , we think she'd prefer to share her home with a male dog , she'd also be more than happy as an only dog. She cannot live with cats or other small furry animals.
Maddie is beyond lush ! A little gem who needs a home to call her own forever . She has had the benefit of living in a house therefore knows the house rules. She just needs that special family to open their heart and home to her so that she can find the security of her new forever home.
