Clovis is a truly special boy with a heart as big as his spirit! Despite a rough start in life, including being beaten as a pup and being completely blind, he is an incredibly brave and trusting little pup who’s thriving in his foster home. His wobbly walk doesn't slow him down – he gets around brilliantly, loves to play, and is the cheekiest little character!
Clovis has had a tough journey, but he’s grown into a sweet, joyful boy who deserves a family that will continue to nurture and love him for the rest of his life. He’s proven to be a brave and resilient little guy, who has learned to navigate his home with ease, happily bobbing around and getting into anything that smells like food (he LOVES his meals)!
What’s Clovis Like?
Cuddly & Playful: Clovis loves being near you, often snuggling up beside you for some quality bonding time. He’s also a playful little guy who loves his toys (he hasn’t destroyed a single one!), though his favorite activity might just be figuring out how to get into cardboard boxes filled with kibble!
Brave & Confident: Despite being blind, Clovis confidently explores his environment. He is totally unfazed by household noises like the washing machine, kettle, or heater. He’s growing more confident every day and is even getting the hang of toilet training—he just sometimes lets you know at 2am that he needs a bathroom break!
Food Lover: Clovis is a foodie! He’s putting on weight steadily, and food is a great motivator for him. He’s already starting to fill out, and we can’t wait to see him flourish even more!
Car Journeys & Crate Time: Clovis is a fan of car rides and will happily stay in the car even when you arrive home! He’s also doing well with crate training, now happily settling in his crate (no mess!) when needed, and loves his bedtime routine.
Socializing & Barking: While Clovis loves to be outside for a stroll, he is still working on his social skills with other dogs. He sometimes barks at men but is quickly calming down with patience. He does get a bit overexcited around other dogs if they run up to him but is making progress with training.
What Clovis Needs:
Clovis is looking for a home where someone is home most of the time—he thrives on companionship and will make a wonderful addition to a loving family. He would love a secure garden to explore and maybe even a dog buddy to help him build confidence with other pups.
Fun Fact:
He loves a bit of Bob Marley music and has been known to go into a wee trance and settles right down when it's played!
Why Clovis is Special
: Clovis may have had a challenging start, but his resilience, joy for life, and sweet nature shine through every day. He’s a brave little pup who is learning to trust again and is growing into the loving, cheeky companion he was always meant to be.
