We love Carrie! She reminds us of a Great Dane in size and personality. She needs an adult only home (due to her size). Could live with another dog (pending successful meet and greets), but no cats.
Carrie is looking for a home where her people understand the needs and care of a larger breed like a Great Dane. She is such a wonderful dog, but she needs guardians who will give her the life she needs.
She has had successful cruciate ligament surgery on both her rear legs, and she is recovering well from her latest (and last) operation for this. She has been given the 'all clear' to run around now. It is not expected that she will have any more issues.
This beautiful girl is now being fostered by two families who take it in turns to care for her around their work commitments. During their care of her she is regularly being taken out on familiarisation trips, to help her get used to a life with people, traffic and other dogs. Carrie is doing so well and is gaining in confidence every day. We're so proud of her!
In the home, she is super and loves a sofa to cuddle up on. She's calm and settles well in the home, but does struggle with strangers visiting and coming into her space. Her fosterers are helping her with this, and improvements have been seen. However, ideally she would like a quieter home. As you can see in the photos, she likes to spend a lot of her time just chilling!
When Carrie gets to know you, she's so affectionate and loves a cuddle and a fuss. Despite her size, she can be a little scaredy-cat sometimes and likes to snuggle between your legs for comfort. Carrie really is a big softie, and just needs somewhere and someone in her life to give her safety, comfort, love and guidance.
