We love Carrie! She reminds us of a Great Dane in size and personality. She needs an adult only home (due to her size). Could live with another dog (pending successful meet and greets), but no cats.
Carrie is looking for a home where her people understand the needs and care of a larger breed like a Great Dane.
This beautiful girl has some dedicated fans at the kennels that she currently calls home. Two members of our Amicii family commonly take Carrie home for weekends of luxury and cuddles. This has given Carrie an amazing opportunity to adapt to home life and learn how wonderful creature comforts can be. Sadly, due to work commitments, this lovely couple cannot adopt Carrie, but they are giving her the best chance at being ready for home life.
Carrie is generally great in the home - she's calm and settles well. There may need to be some management surrounding visitors, because she can be fearful of strangers in her space. Our kind volunteers, as well as the marvellous staff at the kennels, have been helping her with this fear, and have seen improvements. However, ideally she would like a quieter home. As you can see in the photos, she likes to spend a lot of her time just chilling!
When Carrie gets to know you, she's so affectionate and loves a cuddle and a fuss. Despite her size, she can be a little scaredy-cat sometimes and likes to snuggle between your legs for comfort. Carrie really is a big softie, and just needs somewhere and someone in her life to give her safety, comfort, love and guidance.
