Description🐾CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME IN DEVON
Bow is such a sweet dog ready to find her forever home, Cornwall/Devon homes only please!
BOW'S RESCUE STORY 🐾
Sweet little Bow lived with her family her entire life, but things took a difficult turn when she couldn't get along with the resident dog. With her family struggling to find a solution, Bow urgently needed a new home. 🏡💔
Thankfully, we had a wonderful foster home ready to take her in. With the help of an incredible rescue transporter, Bow swiftly made the long journey from up north all the way down to Cornwall, where she is now starting the next chapter of her life. 💖🐶
Bow is such a lovely girl, and she’s already settling in beautifully with her foster family. We’re so grateful to everyone who made this rescue possible and can't wait to see what the future holds for this precious pup! 🌟
Breed:
French Bulldog (probably Crossbreed), colour dark brindle
Size: Small
Sex: Female
Age: 2 years (DOB 26.01.2022)
Neutered:
No – needs to be arranged after next season which is expected Oct/Nov
Vaccinated: Yes
Health:
Bow has suffered ear trouble and allergies in the past. She arrived with sore ears which are being treated.
A mild malformation of the spine and neck has been diagnosed and our vet has reassured us that this shouldn’t affect her too much. Just like a human having a bad back once in a while, Bow should be able to live a happy and fulfilled life.
New owners just need to be mindful that if she has been for a lengthy walk, she will need rest and not repeat lengthy walks every day. Bow’s fosters have found that three short walks, 1-2 miles each during the day or a longer walk, currently up to three miles, and a little nighttime wee walk, is fine.
The vet said that it is important to keep up with the walking as this builds muscle around the spine and neck, preventing any injury. Bow could possibly walk further with slow training to do so. X-rays are available on request for serious adopters.
Bow has to have a grain/wheat free diet and monitoring on walks, to ensure she doesn’t scoff down a discarded sandwich for example 😁.
Microchipped: Yes
Temperament/Behaviour/Training needs:
Bow is calm, gentle and just wants to be with her family.
Bow has had some training and will need further training for recall etc.
Walks well on the lead, doesn’t pull unless getting closer to home and feeding time. Loves to sniff everything and everyone. Knows the command ‘wait’ at roads and waits nicely until she hears ‘cross’.
Bow is a sweet little lady who wants to be loved.
Great with people and other dogs, but can be anxious about receiving touch from strange humans.
Lovely friendly temperament.
Travels well.
Crate trained, but doesn’t currently have it closed, will go in it on her own accord.
A full assessment form can be shared with serious adopters.
Child friendly:
She lived with children but would be looking for a home with older children or adult only.
Dog friendly:
Fine with dogs outside of the home.
Cat friendly:
Lived with cats in her previous home, but a new cat will need a patient introduction and a dog savvy cat.
House trained: Yes
Ideal home:
Bow is looking for a settled and calm home where she can feel secure and loved.
A secure garden to mooch, lounge, and play in would be ideal for her.
While Frenchie experience would be great, it's not essential as long as her new family is committed to learning about the breed.
Bow would enjoy the company of doggy friends outside of the home but would prefer to be the only dog in the home, so she can have all the attention to herself.
Bow would love a home where someone can be around most of the time to keep her company, she loves being near someone but doesn’t demand fuss.
She can be left for short periods of 1-4hrs but would prefer to come with you if she can.
A calm household is key, and if there are children, they should be older (10+) and dog-savvy, to ensure everyone lives happily together.
Bow is ready to give lots of love and is waiting for the perfect family to call her own. 🐾❤️
A little note from Bow’s foster mum:
Bow is such a little sweetie, she was nervous about touch and fuss to start with but came around after a few weeks in our care, but still a little unsure of touch around her neck.
She loves food and treats and is so gentle when taking treats.
She loves her fluffy pig and this will come with her to her forever home, she also enjoys playing with a ball.
Bow enjoys going out in the garden for a little run around and a snooze in the sun. She loves her routine and walks, although, not overly keen on walking in the rain! We purchased a coat for her, and this really helped, she also has a fleece jumper which she loves having on.
She really is a delight to have around and we believe she will be snapped up quickly.
If you are interested in giving Bow her forever home please complete our application as a first step. You can find our form at the bottom of this page on our website (Bow will have her very own page on there soon)
