Description

Rabbit family for sale. Looking for new home. With a heavy heart I am looking for a new home for my 3 šŸ° šŸ° šŸ° Reason is my work, as I am barely at home and my life situation has changed so I no longer have enough room to give them or a garden for them to run around. I am hoping to find them new owners that will take really good care of them. Two lionheads are female and lop rabbit is male. All neutered. Brown lionhead (Choco), white lionhead (Bounty) are sisters and living together since they were small. I bought them from a lionhead breeder. The lop is Twixi and he is the youngest, he came from pets at home shop. They all are litter trained, neutered and live together in one cage without problems. This year I haven't vaccinated them but they have been previously, so will have some immunity, but would advise vaccines to be resumed. They don't have any health problems or conditions. At the moment I have them living indoors, but I do let them out to run in my room under supervision, because they like to chew things. Happy for them to go to indoor or outdoor home. Choco (brown lionhead) date of birth is 25.07.2019 so she is 5 years old. She is very friendly and the bravest. She is always the first one to explore new areas. She is adorable and likes cuddles. Bounty (white lionhead) date of birth is 04.06.2019 and she is 5 years old. She is very calm and in size she is bigger than Choco. You can easly pet her and pick her up. She isn't as brave as Choco as she likes an area to hide in when she is scared or in a new place. Twixi the lop boy, date of birth is 15.11.2021 and he is 3 years old. He is very active and likes to run around and do zoomies. He is strong as well, when nail clipping time comes and I need to hold him. He is friendly but if he doesn't like something he will kick his back legs. He doesn't particularly like being picked up, but will tolerate short cuddles, whereas the girls love cuddles. With the girls he is gentle and his favourite sister is Bounty. They live in a play pen type cage. You can make different sizes and styles from this cage. I will give you their cage with all their things including, dry food, hay, cage, accessories etc. In the bottom of the cage I use carpet tiles as they don't like slippery flooring such as laminate or tiles. We are located in Gravesend. If you want to meet them before making a decision, you are welcome to. Any questions please ask.

Buyer's checklist for rabbits

1

Be responsible, do your research first

Getting rabbits is a massive commitment, so make sure you have researched all of their general needs, and those specific to their breed fully and have the time and commitment necessary to care for the rabbits. You can read our detailed information guide about rabbits for potential new rabbit owners. If you are looking for a rabbit to keep your rabbit company remember that they will both need to be neutered and that a male / female pair works best. Rabbits are a long term commitment as they can live up to 10 years.

2

Rabbits need a friend and space

Rabbits should never be kept alone, they need the company of other (neutered) rabbits. They need space to stand, hop, jump and run, and safe places for hiding. The absolute minimum space required 24/7 for up to 2 average sized rabbits is area 3m x 2m x 1m high.

3

Health check & welfare

It can be difficult for the average person to check if a rabbit is healthy or not. The seller should be willing to let you take the rabbit to a vet of your choice for a health check and return the pet within 48 hours for a full refund if there are health issues. If the rabbit has already been health checked, make sure you have this documented and phone their vet. Also remember rabbits need to be neutered so that they can live with other rabbits, and vaccinated annually to protect them against myxomatosis and RVHD1 and 2. Register with a rabbit friendly veterinary Practice. We would advise that you read the following article containing rabbit care and welfare information provided by the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund (RWAF).

4

Report, donā€™t support!

If you believe a rabbit may be subject to irresponsible breeding, do not ā€œrescueā€ the rabbit by rehoming it. Walk away and report the seller to us immediately.

5

Rabbits must be 8 weeks when collected

Rabbits must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned before they can leave their mothers. Most responsible sellers will keep their rabbits longer than this before they let them go to new homes. Make sure you take some of the food with you so you can change over to your own food gradually.
