Very sad to post this but I am going to have to rehome, my boy Patch. He has been an outside cat for years however in the last 1.5 years, he has developed a habit of going out and not coming home, which resolved for a good few months but has reoccurred recently. Vet said he may have an allergy to something outside that affects his skin which leads to him overgrooming - making his skin become very sore and behavioural changes (not coming home). But it may be that he is getting forgetful and he is not finding his way which worrying due to his deafness. When he is inside, he is is usual self, happy, snuggly, content and skin seems fine/hair grows back.
It is proving difficult to keep him in despite numerous attempts with having the other cats and doesn't feel fair to keep them inside also, when they come and go just fine.
Due to the above Patch needs to be a HOUSE CAT and kept inside going forward.
Patch is 5/6 years old.
Patch is DEAF and has been since birth so meows very loudly.
Patch is GREEDY so will steal your food if you leave your butty out on the side.
But Patch is the most FRIENDLY, LOVING, FUNNY cat, loves attention and is great with children.
