Description
Alice GSD & Ted GR (both 6 years) Alice was birthed in our home. I had her dad (a Black and Tan GSD) who is a top bloodline dog and died at the age of 11. Alice is one of his offspring that we kept and raised. We rescued Ted as a 1 year old pup. These dogs are inseparable and will only be considered to a loving forever home for the pair. This hasn’t been an easy decision for us and due to unforeseen cicrumstances we are sadly looking for to rehome to 5* home only. We are not bothered if it takes months or doesn’t happen at all as it’s important to us they become someone’s babies. We never imagined we would ever be in this position as we have been through a lot with them when hard decisions have arrived in the past. We had our little girl 2 year ago with all great intensions of them remaining a part of our family. I used to judge people for parting with their pets with pregnancy until now. Its only came to this now as we have realised we are being selfish. Sadly over time their quality of life has been impacted and they are not walked or cared for like they should be. They are extremely loved and part of our lives and we would have just hung on knowing there was light at the end of the tunnel with nursery and school coming up but we are not 30 weeks pregnant with her sister and we can’t see their lives improving in the next 2 year which is a huge shame because they could have years of quality of life with someone one else. It would be selfish and unfair to keep them the way we are behind safety gates for hair , or seperated for our toddler running round or space purposes. They were used to be centre of our world. Going away with us, constant dog walks, days out, sleeping on the bed, having run of the house and it’s just not fair anymore as they aren’t centre of our world anymore. They couldn’t be anymore human if they tried, extremely well behaved, especially for only having a handful of walks since our little girl. They can be left as as-long as you need. We gave them run of the house for 24 hours when we went into hospital with a friend letting them out. They don’t chew, misbehave or put a foot out of place but they are missing a lot of attention and love and touch. They both have excellent recall and behaviour when out. Alice walks calmly on a halti and Ted tootles along on his lead once he’s corrected for pulling or trying it on. Over the years due to fear of dog attacks or what not we have rightly or wrongly kept them isolated or to ourselves on rural walks or on leads in busy places and as a result expecting them to join groups of dogs would be unreasonable although they probably would. We just always preferred to keep them to ourselves. They will go anywhere busy or quiet and very well behaved. They’re complete opposites. The retriever just loves everybody and the shepherd would rather keep to herself and because they have each other we’ve never felt a need to over socialise. They are truly beautiful dogs who don’t put a foot wrong which makes it even more difficult as they don’t complain. We can answer more queries on enquiry. We do insist on them being rehomed within a reasonable distance and not miles down country and although we can’t legally make it happen we would love the reassurance the know they come back to us should circumstance ever change as won’t have them passed around and rehomed should things change. If you think you can offer them a 5* home please get in touch for more information. Combined Adoption fee will apply to deter the whole free dog issue.
