DescriptionBreed: FRUG – Frenchie x Pug
Size: Small
Age: 3 years - DOB 30.04.21
Microchipped: yes
Neutered: yes
Health:
Albie is in good overall health and is up to date with his worm and flea prevention. However, his vaccinations will need to be restarted if required.
Albie does have some seasonal allergies, particularly affecting his paws during the summer months. His current owners have been managing this at home with creams and sprays from Pets at Home, which have helped alleviate the symptoms, although Albie isn’t too fond of the treatments.
Child-Friendly:
Albie currently lives with young children and has shown himself to be generally tolerant, gentle and patient. However, he would thrive in an adult-only home or with a family with older children who can provide him with more time and respect his boundaries.
Dog-Friendly:
Albie enjoys playing with other dogs and could potentially live with a well-matched canine companion. That said, he is still developing his social skills. His current owners report that he can be reactive on the lead, pulling and barking at other dog - likely out of excitement rather than aggression.
Off-lead, he has occasionally nipped at other dogs, seemingly in an attempt to get their attention. These nips have never caused harm, drawn blood, or escalated into fights, but ongoing guidance and training will help improve his interactions with other dogs.
Cat-Friendly:
Albie has no experience living with cats and has minimal exposure to them. On walks, he will bark at cats but doesn’t appear overly fixated or aggressive toward them.
Other small pet friendly: Unknown.
Livestock friendly: Unknown.
Temperament/Training Needs:
Albie is a sweet-natured little dog who would benefit from consistent boundaries and additional training.
He’s full of excitement and is friendly with people both at home and on walks. However, Albie tends to jump up at visitors and takes some time to settle down.
Albie loves his treats and toys - he’s happy to sit for a treat, but he can be a bit protective of both toys and treats.
He loves attention and cuddles, though he’s not a fan of head pats, which is common in many dogs.
Albie is crate-trained and has a predictable nighttime routine: after a final trip outside, he happily goes into his crate. In the mornings, he enjoys some cosy bed time before starting his day.
He can be left alone without issues, though he’s usually in the company of the owner’s parent’s dog during these times. Occasionally, he chews items like cushions when in unfamiliar settings, which may be stress-related, as it does not happen in his own home.
A cheeky side of Albie is his dislike of the postman - he’ll grab letters through the letterbox and proudly bring them to the lounge! He also has a habit of jumping onto furniture or tables in search of food, so supervision and training will help address this.
Exercise Needs:
Albie currently lacks regular exercise due to his owner’s time constraints. He hasn’t been off-lead for about 18 months and would need a gradual fitness plan to build his stamina. While he enjoys short walks around the local estate and occasional visits to a dog field, his fitness and also recall training will need attention.
He also loves lounging during the day, whether on the sofa or in his bed, and he adores relaxing garden time.
Feeding:
Albie is fed a combination of Tesco’s wet dog food pouches and Harringtons dry food. He’s not picky and is quick to help himself to any food dropped by children unless told otherwise.
Safety Considerations:
Albie has a tendency to dart out of open doors, so care is essential to keep him safe.
Rescue Story:
We were contacted to help find Albie a new home when his current owners, with heavy hearts, realized they couldn’t provide the time and attention he needs. They’ve made the selfless decision to give him the opportunity for a life full of love, care, and activity in a dedicated home that meets his needs.
🏡 Ideal Home for Albie 🐾
Albie is searching for a loving home where he’ll be showered with time, attention, and care.
Training & Guidance: Spending quality time on training and guidance will help build a strong bond with Albie and ensure he feels secure. It will also help with overall control as he adjusts to his new home.
Secure Garden: A safe, enclosed garden is a must so Albie can explore, play, and enjoy training sessions in a secure environment.
Loves Company: Albie thrives on companionship and would adore a home where his family has plenty of time to spend with him.
Experience Welcome (But Not Essential): Experience with similar breeds would be an added bonus, but it’s not a requirement if you’re committed and ready to give Albie the love and attention he deserves.
