Astro is now 1 year old, neutered, and is ready to find his forever home. He would like to live in an area which is away from traffic. He needs another dog or dogs in his home (but not too many). Astro needs someone with experience of dog guardianship, so he wouldn't be an ideal first dog. There could be dog-savvy, calm children in his home. He's met toddlers and been fine with them, but he needs an overall calmer atmosphere, so older children would be best.
This lucky boy is in foster with a professional dog trainer, and so he is getting the best start in life. New adopters will benefit from his training, and will be initially supported by his foster-mum.
His foster-mum describes him as an absolute joy, and it's easy to see why when you look at his videos.
Astro is mixed breed, but resembles a Malinois/GSD cross breed type dog. He's very athletic, loves to play, loves to think, and loves to be active... but, also, he loves to have cuddles.
Sadly, he does find traffic and cars scary but he has incredible resilience and is making amazing progress with this whilst in foster. Ideally, he wouldn't live on or too near a busy road, or somewhere he has to regularly walk past lots of cars. However, he can cope with country roads or new build estates.
Astro is strong and can jump 5ft fences/gates, so will need a well fenced garden. He can chew if left unsupervised (he's still a baby), and so needs something he is allowed to chew. Ideally he will have a crate and/or a safe secure space where he can be left with chews and toys.
He really is a fantastic young dog who is so ready for his new home!
He has been introduced to cats, but we cannot guarantee that any resident cat would accept a dog. If your application is a good match, we can discuss the best way to handle the situation with your cat.
