Jacko is a lovable boy who was very nervous when he arrived with us. He showed teeth through fear but quickly settled and learnt that he had no reason to be frightened of humans.
He isn’t an aggressive dog at all but he had learnt to be defensive
He is still wary of men, he’s far more confident with woman and loves to be picked up for cuddles now.
He hasn’t had a great start to life but he just needs someone to continue to be kind to him. Once he trusts you he is a very loving little boy.
Typical of his breed he is a very alert dog who loves walks. I don’t think he would be very good with cats and he would love nothing more than to chase a squirrel given the opportunity .
He’s ok being left alone for a few hours and he is also crate trained.
He also enjoys sitting next to you having a fuss, he would make a good companion for an active retired person
He is good with other dogs.
He travels well in the car.
He is living in a foster home with dog savvy children who he is ok with but we can’t rehome to someone with children as given his bad start he would be worried by any sudden movements near him until he feels secure in his new home.
All of our animals are cared for in foster homes until they find their forever homes, this gives them time to adjust if they have lived in an outdoor environment.
All of our animals come with 7 days worth of food and 5 weeks insurance from Agria Pet Insurance, as-well as lifetime Rescue Backup. Microchip transfer is completed by us.
Adoption is subject to a home check and adoption contract. In some instances an initial home check may be able to be completed via video call.
Once we have received your application someone will be in touch to discuss him and arrange a home check if you would like to proceed.
If an application is not successful on this occasion we will contact you to ask if you would like to be placed on our waiting list.
