Have had this wonderful looking chap for 2 years I rehomed him from preloved , I was shocked when went to pick up as he was kept in a budgie cage in the utility one perch awful diet , he had been kept like this for 4 years before that he was in their old avairy and when they moved put him in this horrid cage .
As you can see he has a wonderful large cage out all day really clean bird not destructive at all stays on cage all day , has a few words and great whistles , really healthy bird , loves his spray baths .
Unfortunately he is the only bird i own my that does not like females , he adores my husband but he has not time for him as did not want a big parrot in the first place , but he is definitely a man’s parrot .
I started clicker training him to try and build up a bond but still wants my husband , he will have a scratch from my husband and sit with him all day , like all amazons you have to read his mood , sometimes my husband over fusses him and he will take a nip , I just give him space and he is easy to have around but feel with a man experienced with Amazon’s he would be such a lovely bird , he is a very quiet bird , if husband around he will bark like a dog for attention but not for long .
He is on Harrison’s or tops pellets with lean and fit parrot mix sprinkled on top , he gets fresh chop and dried chop , loves an almond and monkey nut at night . He is a laid back parrot in himself but it would be nice for a man to give him more attention and just too hang out with him, he tolerates me and he will step up nicely if he knows he is going to see my husband !
It’s a hard decision as do not like moving him on but definitely not a ladies bird , and needs knowledgeable home only , this bird and a rough few years , genuine enquiries only , cage included brand new cage , please please only genuine people no breeders , could go to heated avairy too
