Due to a change in circumstances looking to re-home Rocky, he is very loving, loyal and protective with his owner and bonds closely with who takes care of him, but can be nervous with strangers, experienced owner only, he’s territorial of his home, strong guarding instinct, excellent guard dog, barking with visitors , however if he’s kept in garden kennels this wouldn’t be a problem, he is used to kennels, not suitable for children, he grew up with children and was always fine but feel he’s best suited to single person or couple, mature family is ok, as he can get over excited with children and because of his size and strength, Experienced owner needed. Pulls on lead, he’s strong, needs lead training.
He is good off the lead in the forest (not near roads) he’ll stay by you and has good recall
EXPERIENCED OWNER ONLY, NEEDS LEAD TRAINING, TRAINING TO HELP WITH BARKING FOR HOME VISITORS AND MUZZLE TRAINING FOR THE VETS
He’s fully house trained and is fine being left alone
Also would be well suited as working dog, guard dog , security dog as such good natural guarding instinct but training would be needed . But also happy in a home environment too with an experienced owner to deal with the visitor issue.
Important -
He has a fear of the vets and they won’t see him without a muzzle, he isn’t muzzle trained so needs muzzle training to get him to see the vets , his vaccines run out in February
He has such a lovely temperament and truly excellent guarding instinct, an absolute wonderful dog. He loves his walks, loves to play and have a job, He just needs someone to give him the time and attention. He loves attention and strokes, He likes to be busy.
Cost is just to ensure good home
