Description
Hi there, this is Wallace the 17 month old Welsh Pembrokeshire Corgi. He is looking for a new home where he can make new friends and explore as much as he likes.
Unfortunately we are unable to care for Wallace anymore, due to having a small baby who needs lots of attention as he was born with an unexpected condition. Wallace has not taken well to the arrival of our baby and has been feeling very left out and very sadly we are unable to give him the attention he needs. This is causing him to have some behavioural issues to try and get our attention which we are struggling to cope with, with a small baby. We are devastated it has come to this but mentality having such a high energy/attention demanding dog and poorly baby is something we are finding very difficult to deal with. But we know, in the right home, he will thrive and be so happy.
The right family will need:
- To have a big garden or near by fields that he can run around in. ( for a dog with little legs, you’ll be surprised how much engery he has )
- Lots of stimulating toys and enrichment for him to explore. ( He is a very very intelligent dog and has been known to occasionally out smart us at times )
- Be trusting. Wallace is absolutely incredible off his lead on walks and around other dogs. He’s very friendly and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. But he will occasionally take himself off to have a dip in a pond or say hi to another dog. But if you keep walking he will come back when he’s ready.
- Would also appreciate someone taking Wallace who can promise him the time to settle in, as rehoming isn’t something that is ever easy for a dog. They need love and patience
- To preferably not to have small babies or children. As he’s still young, he’s still very excitable and doesn’t know his own strength just yet.
- To have time for him. Before the baby was born he was getting so good with his training, however took a step back when he realised he was no longer to baby of the house and started to rebel.
* He can sit, lie down, turn around, leave, paw, settle, play fetch and house trained, he barks at the door to tell you he needs the bathroom. However, isn’t the best at recall, he comes back when he’s ready. He will also need some on lead training as he pulls. *
Wallace’s loves:
- Long walks with friends
- Absolutely loves cuddles and curling up on the sofa with you
- Anything food
- Football, give him a ball and a big open area, he’ll be in his element.
- Learning. He wants that brain stimulation, you can see he craves it but unfortunately we haven’t got the time and engery to give it to him
- Playing, his favourite game is fetch and likes to jump and catch the ball in his month
Wallace’s dislikes:
- The hoover, as he’s a herding dog, he just wants to herd it around. It was be quite overstimulating with someone with little patience
We know the right family will adore Wallace and love his little character and quirks. He is truely an amazing dog. He just needs the right attention and loving home.
