Bought as a female from Lost Reptile World in 2023. Molted a few months ago and was able to confirm female.
Adult Lasiodora parahybana (Salmon Pink Birdeating tarantula). New world specie from Brazil. This beauty is a gentle giant who has never threat posed, however she loves to kick her booty hairs and they are itchy!
If you have never had a pet tarantula before, it is heavily advised to never handle them and I even more so suggest not to handle this girl. Even though she has never been aggressive, it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be, plus breathing in her hairs would be very irritating!
She makes a an amazing display piece because within the whole year I have had her, she has never, ever utilised her hides. Her “take downs” with food is fun to watch and sometimes takes 2 hoppers at a time.
