This is Jesse, our male Labrador born 24th feb 2024, so nearly 1 years old. Jesse has had his puppy vaccinations and he is currently un-neutered as we were waiting until he was fully grown.
We are currently in the process of packing up our house and relocating, we have made the hard decision that this would not be the right move for him.
Jesse is a very loving dog who can at times be very clingy. He is very excitable and will steal food whenever possible! He needs a lot of further training and someone who has a firm and patient attitude. Due to his excitable nature I would not rehome him to a family with small children. Jesse currently lives with another dog who he gets on well with, though when playing he can get too carried away and gets a little rough, therefore we think he would be better off as a single dog. He needs a lot of time and patience and he doesn’t like being alone-he will chew. You will need a secure fenced in garden as he will make it his mission to get through any sign of a small hole! Jesse is small in stature ( old English style Labrador ) but he is very heavy with a solid build so will need an owner who is very steady on their feet with a strong arm!
He loves being outside, has great senses of sound and smell and is a great little guard dog. He is not a barker unless he is spooked by a sound-I could probably count on 1 hand the amount of times I have heard him bark.
He likes to sleep in the bed and snuggle up- he is small but he will take up all the room ! Jesse is very food orientated and it is hard for him to keep his concentration. Over the last few weeks we have had lots of changes in the home which I think has stressed him out because he has started chewing the bottom part of his back near his tail so he has a small amount of hair loss-which is why we feel he needs to be rehomed a little earlier..he is very sensitive, he has very expressive face and it’s very sad to see him looking unhappy. We will not just rehome him to anybody, it really needs to be a good fit to prevent him from being moved from home to home. He has been toilet trained since a puppy and doesn’t have accidents. I have been completely transparent about his issues, but he is a really loving little companion with a funny personality.
