I am needing to rehome my beloved dog Torvi due to change in relationship and work circumstances, I am no longer able to care for her and give her what she needs on my own.
Torvi is a 4 year old bright, bubbly Australian kelpie, collie cross. She is incredibly loving, gentle and cuddly, she is goofy and loves playing games with people with and without toys. She loves sniffing and running, zoomies in the fields on walks. She will often train people how to play with her. She loves working and bonding with people through training and having that kind of 1:1 attention and connection. She is well trained, walks off the lead with good recall, and knows lots of commands. In the evenings she loves curling up on whoever's lap is available for cuddles.
She has two pre-existing health conditions- Pancreatitis and Hip Dysplasia. Both are currently well under control and do not affect her quality of life. I will give full detailed info around these on enquiry.
I believe she would suit an medium- active home, somewhere relatively quiet and close to open green spaces where she can run around safely off the lead. She is incredibly caring and nurturing and that side of her personality really comes out when she has interacted with children. With the right introduction, support and training I believe she could be a really loving companion for a family with children, she has a very gentle disposition. Although she has not lived with children before, so cannot guarantee this would be a good pairing. She would also suit a family with a calm male dog. She gets on well with female dogs too, however there can be challenges for dominance with females- she is more consistently calm and content around males. She loves having a fellow dog companion and cohabits well.
