Marley found himself homeless in a busy overflowing dog pound with nowhere to go. One of our fantastic foster carers gave him a life line and he is proving to be a lovely youngster.
Marley is a stunning young male Akita who always gets noticed whilst out and about. He walks lovely on the lead and holds himself proud. He is also good and accepting of a head collar for extra control. He is curious of other dogs and is friendly with both male and female and playful towards them. He can only live with a suitable female in his new home or as an only dog.
Marley is a big lovable pup, very friendly, cheeky, giddy, playful, daft and silly. He can be clumsy and look at me when his bum has knocked into something as if he is saying “it wasn’t me”
He loves the company of people but also loves his own outside space chilling in the garden. Marley is fully house trained and will bark when he needs to be outside to toilet. He loves his walks exploring new places. He loves his dinner times and will sit for his food. Caution is needed though as he has a big righty paw that he loves you to have at the same time.
Marley enjoys a nice brush but also thinks it’s a game and can go into play mode and a giddy kipper. He is such a funny lad.
Marley loves being outside snoozing, watching the birds and generally listening to noises with his ears pricked up high. For this reason it is essential that his new home has a secure space for him outside.
Marley will initially require someone home with him to help him settle in and get used to his new surroundings. He can be anxious and stress by drooling crying and heavy panting when his foster carer leaves for work, he does settle in his inside kennel once he knows the routine. It is felt a crate will be a valuable training tool for him and his safe space so this is work in progress. He is getting better in the crate in his foster carers van and a good traveller.
He is good at the vets and very inquisitive of the other animals there.
Marley is still a young boy so will adapt well into a new home with time patience guidance and much love.
