Description
This is Wicket. He is 6.5 years old. He has been a loved family pet. My wife and I are separating and though this may take some time, neither of us will likely be able to look after Wicket once we geographically split and it seems fairest to give him a new home now while he's still young and healthy. He was attacked several times as a puppy and has never got over his distrust of other dogs: he may be able to with better training than we have provided but at the moment there's no way he could enter a home with other dogs and on walks he needs to be closely monitored and kept away from other dogs. Give him a ball to chase and he'll focus on nothing else! He's never bitten another dog but he does sometimes lunge and generally will look nervous/bark. He is a bit of a lead puller. This is his one 'flaw' and it is ultimately not his but ours. He is a loving pet and fully housetrained. He's a soppy old sausage and likes a stroke as well as to have a good peaceful sleep. He loves play but has never been pushy/needy. His parents were both working dogs (father/mother guard dog/sheep dog respectively) and we think he get's his obedience from them. He has grown very protective of the family home over the years (guard dog) so we may be best served to meet out for a short walk up the road so he gets used to you before you can see him in the home if you wish. He is great with kids. He did live with pet rats for several years without him paying the slightest attention so he may be ok in a multi-pet household so long as there's no cats/dogs. My inclination however is that he goes to an otherwise pet free home to avoid any problems. He has been with Sundean Vets since birth and is regularly wormed etc. He's up to date with injections etc and is advertised here on the advice of the vet after his 6 monthly check just last week. He is a lovely dog and it is very hard letting him go but we are sure it is the right thing for him. He will make a wonderful companion to a household. Any questions, we will be happy to answer.
