Description
Jim Bob – 5-Month-Old Spaniel x Jack Russell (Possibly with a Touch of Pointer!)
Fostered in Gloucestershire in a busy adult family home with other dogs.
Little Jim Bob hasn’t had the best start in life.
When he arrived in rescue, he was an anxious and worried boy, but it doesn’t take long for him to trust—he just needs that initial reassurance.

Since settling into his foster home, he has already made incredible progress in just a week!
His confidence is growing, and he’s becoming less clingy with his foster mum.
He now happily sleeps downstairs with the other dogs and adores their company, happily playing with dogs of all sizes.
His house training is coming along well, and he’s nearly there.
So respectful of the other dogs and so very sweet

Out and About
🐾 Walking: Jim Bob is brilliant on walks. His foster mum is a dog walker, so he’s had the chance to walk with many different dogs, and he takes it all in his stride. He has fantastic off-lead recall.
🚗 Travelling: Still a work in progress—he’s improving but can still get a bit anxious and drool in the car.
🏡 Being Left: Much better than before! Giving him a Kong as a distraction has helped, and he’s settling more when left alone.
🚘 Lead Walking: He’s understandably nervous around cars, but this is improving with gentle exposure.

What Jim Bob Needs
It’s clear that Jim Bob hasn’t had much socialisation in the past, likely due to an anxious previous owner.
We’re working on his confidence, introducing him to new people and experiences to help him feel more secure.
He is an incredibly loving little dog with no malice in him—just a young pup who needs patient, understanding people to help him grow into the happy, well-adjusted dog he’s meant to be.
💙 Best home for Jim Bob:
✅ An experienced rescue home with time and patience
✅ At least one other confident dog to help guide him
✅ Owners who understand the importance of structured socialisation and training
With the right people, Jim Bob will flourish. He’s still just a baby, and with time, love, and the right guidance, he will leave his worries behind.
If you think you could be the perfect match for Jim Bob, we’d love to hear from you!
